San Diego Opera debut. Romanian tenor Marius Brenciu made his professional debut as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, and has sung at the world’s leading houses including Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper in Berlin, La Monnaie in Brussels, Opéra National de Lyon, Teatro Nacional de Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon, Théâtre de Châtelet, Opéra National de Paris and Opéra de Genève. Appearances include Prunier in La rondine at the Metropolitan Opera, Lensky in Eugene Onegin with the Vienna State Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and in Zurich, Rodolfo in La bohème with San Francisco Opera, Tel Aviv and Hamburg Staatsoper, Gabriele Adorno in Simon Boccanegra at the Hamburg Staatsoper, Almaviva in The Barber of Seville in Lyon and Lisbon and Alfredo in La traviata in Rome, Brussels and Berlin. He sings leading roles in Macbeth, Eugene Onegin, Falstaff, Idomeneo: King of Crete and The Elixir of Love, among many others, and has appeared at the Edinburgh Festival, and in Amsterdam and Tokyo.
