Nicolai Janitzky

American baritone Nicolai Janitzky was last seen at San Diego Opera as Thchelkalov in Boris Godunov in 2007. Janitzky made his Company debut in 2004 as Kuligin in Katya Kabanová and also sang Douphol that same year in La traviata. He has appeared in The Mother of us All with Glimmerglass Opera and New York City Opera and the title role of Eugene Onegin with Santa Fe Opera where he also trained as an apprentice artist. Other recent performances include Thchelkalov with San Francisco Opera, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with Opera Idaho and Belcore in The Elixir of Love with the Santa Barbara Grand Opera Association. Other roles in his repertoire include the title role in Pélleas et Mélisande, Valentin in Faust, Papageno in The Magic Flute, Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro and Marcello in La bohème. He is also an active recitalist.
