Suzanna Guzmán

American mezzo soprano Suzanna Guzmán made her operatic debut with San Diego Opera in 1985 as the Voice of Antonia’s Mother in The Tales of Hoffmann, returing in 1986 as Emilia in Otello, in 2006 as Cornelia in Julius Caesar in Egypt and in 2009 as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly. Other appearances here include Maddalena in Rigoletto, Eunice Hubble in A Streetcar Named Desire, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus and the Third Lady in The Magic Flute. She sang Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro with The Dallas Opera, Mariana in Luisa Fernanda and Flora in La traviata with Los Angeles Opera, and the title role in Carmen with Washington National Opera. She has also appeared with Houston Grand Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, Opéra Montpellier, Grand Théâtre de Genève and Théâtre de l’Opéra de Nice.
