7:00pm - Evening Sitzprobe Rehearsal of Romeo and Juliet

Who Will Attend

The Opera is delighted to offer this unique opportunity exclusively to Patrons who donate $3,000 or more annually.

Why It’s Fun

If you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall at an opera rehearsal and watch how the performance is actually built, this is your opportunity! Guests will listen-in on the insider conversations between conductor, director and singers as they put the finishing touches on their vocal performances. Best of all, guests will be the first to hear the sensational voices of opera’s hot new “Golden Couple” – tenor Stephen Costello and soprano Ailyn Perez as they sing Gounod’s gorgeous music with the orchestra and the rest of this terrific cast of Romeo and Juliet.

Top off the experience at a delicious dessert reception with Ian Campbell, General Director and Artistic Director of San Diego Opera. Ian will give you the insider scoop on what it takes to find these great new stars, when they’re returning to our stage and what he has planned for upcoming seasons. This is truly a “must see” event for opera fans!

This event is complimentary to, and exclusively for, San Diego Opera’s donors at the Cognoscente Patron Level ($3,000) and above
