Edoardo Müller Edoardo Müller was born in Trieste and made his conducting debut at the Maggio Musicale in Florence in 1973 in Rossini's Mosé. He was then invited to conduct in many of Europe's leading opera houses such as Paris, Geneva, Barcelona, Rome, Venice, Turin, Nice, Parma, Bologna, Munich and Torre del Lago. He enjoyed a particularly close association with the Teatro alla Scala in Milan where he has conducted Aida, I due Foscari, Il trovatore, I Masnadieri, La forza del destino, Ernani, The Barber of Seville, Anna Bolena, Madama Butterfly, Turandot and Pagliacci.

He made his American debut at San Diego Opera in 1980 conducting Verdi's Giovanna D'Arco where he has since returned for over 33 productions including Il Corsaro, Simon Boccanegra, Norma, Lucia di Lammermoor, La traviata, The Marriage of Figaro and Il trovatore, Falstaff, Turandot, Don Carlo, Simon Boccanegra, La bohème and The Barber of Seville. Capping off his twenty-fifth year of excellence, in 2005 San Diego Opera bestowed the title of Principal Guest Conductor on Edoardo Müller.

Edoardo Müller made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 1984 with The Barber of Seville and has returned to the Metropolitan regularly since for Lucia di Lammermoor, I Puritani,The Elixir of Love, The Daughter of the Regiment, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella and Lucia di Lammermoor.

Maestro Müller made his debut with the Chicago Lyric Opera in 1999 with La traviata while in 2000 he was greatly acclaimed for his debut at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires in Attila. Müller has also often conducted productions at the Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile. Other theaters which have welcomed him include the Dallas Opera for Tosca, Seattle Opera for Norma, Rigoletto, Anna Bolena and Lucia di Lammermoor, the Cincinanti Opera for Nabucco, The Italian Girl in Algiers, Aida and La bohème, the Philadelphia Opera for Lucia di Lammermoor, The Pearl Fishers and Madama Butterfly, the Pittsburgh Opera for Hamlet, Norma and Carmen and at L'Opéra de Montréal for Mefistofele, Dialogues of the Carmelites and Manon Lescaut. In Canada he has also frequently performed with the opera companies of Edmonton and Winnipeg and in 2001 he debuted at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa leading Richard Strauss' Salome. His 2006 season included A Masked Ball and Il trovatore in Cincinnati, Italiana in Seattle and Cenerentola in Houston.

Edoardo Müller was for many years the Director of the School for Advanced Studies at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He has also frequently appeared in recital with artists including Renata Tebaldi, Leyla Gencer, Katia Ricciarelli, Carlo Bergonzi, José Carreras and Piero Cappuccilli. His most recent recording has been in collaboration with Ramon Vargas of Verdi Arias for BMG Classics.
