In-school Residency Program

Students take the stage in this multi-faceted arts program, producing their own opera under the guidance of three opera professionals. The operas are especially adapted for children and allow the students to work in all aspects of production -- from sets and costumes to stage management and lighting. And, of course the students star in the productions, acting, dancing and singing! Over the course of the six-week program, students are given individual confidence-building responsibilities and learn the value of teamwork. As they develop their abilities and talents backstage or onstage, they not only learn about opera, they learn about themselves. Ultimately, they share their accomplishments through wonderful performances for their parents and fellow students. The result is truly opera FOR kids...BY kids! Thanks to generous donations from our Sponsors, this program is made available at minimal cost to the schools involved.
